Genesis 2:2 (KJV)
He rested on the seventh day from all
his work which he had made.
Was God tired? Is that why He rested? No, it means
He finished His work!
There are those who start projects only to leave them
sitting around to rot in the sun.
Genesis 2:1-4 (MSG)
1 Heaven and Earth were finished, down to the last detail.
2-4 By the seventh day
God had finished his work.
On the seventh day
he rested from all his work.
God blessed the seventh day.
He made it a Holy Day
Because on that day he rested from his work,
all the creating God had done.
God expects us to rest after we complete our tasks, to
bless our day of rest! We are to imitate Christ! The reason so many of us are
tired and worn out on Sundays is because we aren’t completing what He has
called us to do during the week.
